"At the end of the session he said, 'That's the sharpest I've seen him.' He said he was sharp, his focus was better and his athleticism had improved."
Tom and Ash, parents of a goalkeeper, one week into Craig's preseason plan
Sound familiar?
- School finishes at 3:15. Training starts at 5:30. They're starving at 8.
- The lunchbox comes home half full, again.
- Game's at 8am and they won't touch breakfast.
- You're standing in the supermarket wondering what a footballer is actually meant to eat.
In my survey of 951 football parents, only 3% felt confident about their child's nutrition. Most of them were trying hard. They just didn't have the plan.
Open the day. Check the time. Pack it.

Meet Craig
I'm Craig Evans, an accredited sports nutritionist (BHSc, Sports Nutrition Association). I've worked with players from grassroots to the A-League, academy players in the UK and US, and players who have played at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
I'm also a football dad. I know what a training night looks like at home, and I know most parents aren't short on effort. They're missing a clear plan. This is that plan.
What parents say
"We followed your tournament guide on Sunday. He played 5x 40 min games with 40 min gap between them... It made such a difference, I cannot even explain. I haven't seen the amount of effort and strong performance from him like that in such a long time... He played the full 50 mins (and this was at the end of the day!)"
Emily, mum of a young footballer, Queensland
"His advice was grounded in science yet pitched at an age-appropriate level... Since then I've noticed more energy, less muscle soreness after training, and a genuine increase in his interest in food."
Mum of an 11-year-old high-level player, Brisbane
"He came home from training last night and said he had so much energy! He has been eating more and really well over the past 3 days."
Parent of a young footballer
"These comments have helped [him] buy in to the meal plan and we are excited to see how he develops this pre season."
Tom and Ash, parents of a goalkeeper

Questions
How is this different from your free guides?
The free guides cover one moment, like after school or match day. This is the whole week, every meal, with the shopping done for you.
My kid's a fussy eater. Will it work?
Every meal has swaps, and there's a page for when they won't eat. If fussiness is the main problem, the Football Fuel Analysis is the better fit.
What if training is on different nights?
Swap the Wednesday and Friday pages to your training nights. The pages for training at 4pm and 7pm are in Smart Swaps. Training 3 times a week? Use a Wednesday or Friday page for the extra night.
My player is 15 or 16.
The portion guide covers 15 to 17. Use the bigger portions and add carbs first.
Allergies or intolerances?
The swap tables help, but check every meal against your child's needs and read labels.
Do I need to count calories?
No. Portions use your child's hand. No weighing, no apps.
How do I get it?
Instant download after checkout. Print it or use it on your phone.
